Ingram Planetarium is proud to present Latest News From the Red Planet, presented by Ian Hewitt on October 12 at 7:00 pm.

Our neighboring red planet has a fleet of robotic spacecraft exploring its atmosphere and surface.  The newest mission, Mars Insight, is already traveling to the planet.  Our rovers have discovered some fascinating details about Mars and its history — as well as some intriguing new mysteries.  With each set of observations, we get closer to finding out if life was once present or if life is now present on Mars.

Ian Hewitt has been interested in astronomy and space since he was very young.  After working in embedded systems (like the ones used on spacecraft), he decided to become a professional astronomer and teacher.  He has been part of the NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassadors education program since 2003 and has given multiple classes and talks to a wide variety of audiences.
